#28: Exploring Parenting Styles: RIE

with Erica Orosco Cruz

Finding your own personal parenting style when you first have a baby takes time. There are so many people and approaches to glean from as you find what works best for you. One thing I love about the RIE approach to parenting is how it honors to the dignity of each child by speaking to them with respect, giving them time to respond on their own, which promotes self-awareness and autonomy.

In this episode, I chat with early childhood specialist and parent coach Erica Orosco Cruz. She helps children, families, and teachers thrive and grow together on the foundation of mutual respect. She is certified through RIE (Resources for Infant Educarers) and the state of California and is also trained in the Waldorf methods.

Erica’s passion for supporting families stems from her own experience as a mother of 4 boys (ranging in ages from 2 to 25!), and as a daughter who set out to parent in a different way than she was as a child.
